Zone Counting is required as the main displays cannot be accurate based on the bay monitors. Vehicle in transit must be taken into account when indicating the number of available parking bays in a specific parking area or level.

JVES has developed a Magnetic ZoneCounter that integrates with our PGS system as a standard. Our Zone Counter can be connected to the PGS Buffer via the daizzy chain RS232 system or directly to the host via the RS485 bus.

The logic employed is as follows:
•    By default, the main counters are controlled using information obtained from the Zone Counters.
•    The displays are reset to the counting obtained from the bay monitors in a case of no traffic for 10 minutes. This is done as Zone counters may collect errors over time.

Amongst the main features of the ZoneCounter are:

1.    1, 2 or 4 loops can be counted.
2.    RS232 or RS485 communication buses.
3.    Obtains its power from the DataBuffer, no 220V is required.
4.    Status LED Indicator.

Operation

The JVES ZoneCounter uses the well-proven and widely used loop detection system.

A coil is placed on the path of the vehicles. The passing vehicles change the inductance of the coil. An electronic sensor senses these changes and translates them to a detection signal.

Status LED

The PGS Zone Counter is equipped with bi-colour status LED:
•    The LED Blinks green if all is OK
•    The LED Blips red when a vehicle is detected.
•    The LED Blinks red in case of a fault.
