PPC Headquaters, Sandton - Joint Ventures Electronic Services

The PPC headquarters is a new building, located in Sandton, one of the South African main business centers.

Site details:

140 parking bays, in four seperated levels
4 Numeric displays
4 ZoneBuffers

All the sensors are of combo configuration with the exception of 4 sensors. The numeric displays have been placed at the entrance to each section, giving the driver occupancy information on approach.

Motivation

The covered parking is divided to 4 separate sections with 4 separate entrances. There is no link between the sections. The problem facing the driver entering the complex is to which section to venture. Entering a full section will cause west of time and frustration.

The best solution was the installation of a Parking Guidance System. The numeric displays are placed at the entrance to each section, giving the driver an accurate indication regarding the occupancy, enabling him/her to make a decision.

Further, a ControlRoom monitor, located at the gate, enables the security personnel to advise entering drivers and optimize the occupancy across the 4 sections.

Conclusion:

A Parking Guidance System reduces parking search time and probable frustration to nil.
